Young Wine 2024

It's finally here!

The first wine of this year's vintage. The age-old tradition of "vins de l'année"—or wines of the vintage—continues.

This year, we’ve responded to the wishes of our customers and restaurant partners alike, and the popular young Müllerka is back. Do you have any idea how long it takes for a young wine to go from harvest to bottling? For those who like to take a guess, we’ll reveal the answer at the end of this post.

Young, fresh, playful, dry, and beautifully fruity with a typical light Muscat aroma—that’s our Müllerka. Müller Thurgau is the ideal variety for young wines, and the Mikulov wine subregion suits its grapes perfectly. High-quality grapes are the foundation, and so even from a variety that unfairly bears the shadows of the past, we can produce a high-quality, fresh young wine.

Unlike Svatomartinské wines, young wines are not subject to a trademark (Svatomartinské wine has been a registered trademark since 1995), so you can buy and open them right now.

And what’s the best thing to pair with our Müller? Young wines and St. Martin’s Day goose—that’s a classic combination.

Try some young pea soup, and you’ll be surprised at how Müller’s delicate aroma and freshness bring out the sweetness of the peas. And we recommend the perfect local pairing—plum dumplings with a glass of our young Müller.

The promised answer to wrap things up:

We harvested our Müller on August 29 and bottled it on November 1—just two months later!

Cheers, and greetings from Dolní Dunajovice,

the entire Baláž family
