Here we go!
The first wine of this year's vintage. The ancient tradition of vin de l'année, or wines of the vintage - the wines of the year of the harvest, continues.
This year we have complied with the wishes of our customers and also gastro customers and once again there is the popular young Müllerka. Any idea how long it takes for a young wine to go from harvest to bottling? For the playful guessers, we put the answer at the end of the post.
Young, fresh, playful, dry, beautifully fruity with a typical light muscat aroma, this is our Müllerka. Müller Thurgau is an ideal variety for young wines and the Mikulov wine sub-region suits its grapes. Quality raw material is the basis, and so even a variety that unjustly bears the shadows of the past makes a quality and fresh young wine.
Young wines, unlike St. Martin's, are not subject to trademark (St. Martin's wine has been a registered trademark since 1995), so you can buy and open it now.
And what is the best pairing for our Müllerka? Young wines and St. Martin's goose, that's a classic.
Try the young pea soup and you will be surprised how the subtle aroma and freshness of the Müller underlines the sweetness of the peas. And we recommend the perfect local combination - plum dumplings with a glass of our young Müller.
The promised answer at the end:
We harvested our Müllerka on 29.8. and bottled it on 1.11., so only 2 months!
Cheers and greetings from Dolní Dunajovice,
all the Balazs
