Tramínovice or our "Danube grappa". Why did we decide to produce it? Our wine travels often take us abroad. So why not try grappa when we have the raw materials for it? And so our Tramínovice was born. Smooth, fruity, aromatic.
As already mentioned, the inspiration for our Traminovka was Italian grappa. A wine spirit that has its roots in the land of wine and food. It originated as a poor man's drink because winemakers gave away the leftovers from wine pressing to workers who found a way to use them.
Today we can say that it is actually a perfect ZERO VASTE product. It burns matolina, which is the leftovers after pressing the wine (stems, stalks, skins). In this case, sustainable and ecological farming is the way from wine waste to a spirit that is especially pleasing as a digestif after a good meal. Waste-free farming has never been so tasty!
How to serve Traminovka? It is best enjoyed from a tall, narrow glass with a slightly flared neck, which is used for brandy. You can also use any other stemmed glass. But always pour at a low level, no more than a third of the way up (for a small glass), so you can smell and be enchanted by the aroma. Traminer is asking for it.
The general recommendation is to cool it down to 8-12 degrees. The warmer you drink it, the more pronounced its aroma will be. So don't be bound by the rules and find your own temperature.
Mixed drinks and Traminovka are a separate chapter. How about a Moravian mojito? In the hot summer, try a Frozen Margarita, forget tequila, take our Traminovitz, some fresh ripe fruit or fruit pulp and ice chips and you are the king of mixology! And in a winter like this one, indulge in an Italian "remedied coffee" or caffé corretto. Grappa can be added directly to the espresso, or serve it in a separate glass and everyone can create a ratio that suits them. Connoisseurs are said to wash down a drunken cup of coffee with a drop of grappa to finish off this coffee-and-wine ritual.
