Updated opening hours and events at the winery. Plan your summer visit to Baláž Winery in Dolní Dunajovice and enjoy wine, a barbecue, and music.

Every wine region has “its own” grape variety—one that has proven itself over time and makes the best use of the soil and local climate. Today, this is sometimes referred to as a “signature variety.” And here, it’s Vlašák.

The grape harvest lasted 59 days. The weather tested us more this year than last year—we postponed the harvest several times and waited for the right moment. It paid off. The harvest was very good.

In December, our last day of business will be Tuesday, December 23, until 12:00 p.m. We’ll be back to serve you in the new year on January 5, 2026. Happy New Year 2026!

Our Baláž Winery gift boxes were a huge hit, so we’re offering them again this year. Packed with love and beautifully arranged—just place them under the Christmas tree.

One of your favorite wines—Solaris—is back in our selection. We’re offering the new vintage of our semi-sweet Solaris right now, in the run-up to Christmas. 

During the summer months, we are open every day at the winery from Monday through Saturday; on Sundays, you can purchase wine by prior telephone arrangement.

Dear Customers, the summer vacation is over, and our winery’s regular hours are back. We’re so glad you visited us this summer—there’s nothing quite like meeting you in person.

A non-alcoholic cuvée from the Dunajovské Kopce wine association. You can find the wine in our shop and in our partner wine shops. During the summer you can also taste it directly at our store.

We have for you the results of the first round of this year's Prague Wine Trophy. We take away six medals, and not just any medals. Three are the highest possible Prague Premium Gold and three are Prague Gold.

This year, the first bottling of the 2024 vintage took place at our winery in January. The wines need some more time on the bottle and we will present them at the end of February.

Our adjusted business hours have ended with the summer break. Starting in September, we are once again open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. We’d be happy to accommodate you outside these hours as well, by prior telephone arrangement.

The story of our new sparkling wine line begins. We are currently harvesting Chardonnay and White Ruland for sparkling wine. In 2020, we decided to launch a new line of traditional sparkling wines at our winery.

The heat is good for the grapes, and they are ripening. The grape harvest at Baláž Winery is approaching. Today we checked the ripeness of the grapes in the vineyard, which is measured in ČNM sugar degrees.

We participated in the King of Wines 2024 competition again this year. We are proud that the collection of medals our winery has won is truly royal.

The Průhonice Wine Trail will take place this weekend in Průhonice Park. We will be participating in the event alongside our fellow winemakers from the Dunajovské kopce association.

Wines aged in concrete tanks are now a well-established novelty on our wine market. We’ve been offering them to you for several years now, and they’ve become very popular with you.

We’re currently getting ready for the Prima Fresh Festival in Plzeň, which will take place in the park behind the Plzeň Plaza shopping center on May 18–19. Come taste our wines.

This Easter, we’re releasing the first wines of the 2023 vintage. We’re starting with the early varieties—which are also your favorite white wines—and they’ll be among the first to sell out.

Today we bottled the first new wines from the 2023 vintage. It was cold—a few degrees above zero—but as you can see in the photos, we were happy that we managed to get everything done and were even able to celebrate!

The PRAGUE WINE TROPHY is an international wine competition open to wines from wine-producing regions around the world. In terms of the number of samples evaluated, it is the largest international wine competition in the Czech Republic.

In early 2024, we will begin selling the red wines from the Tannowitz line. For this line, we produce wines only in the best vintages, from the best grapes.

On November 23, 2023, the awards ceremony for the Internet Effectiveness Awards 23 online project competition took place in Prague, and our winery was a proud partner of the entire event.

The grape harvest marks the end of our demanding, year-round work in the vineyard and the beginning of a new phase of work in the cellar. So for us, the harvest is actually both an end and a beginning.

The Story of Dunajovský Vlašák, or: If You Want an Original Local Wine from the Baláž Winery. Dunajovský Vlašák is the story of a wine that has a clear origin, yet transcends the boundaries of individual wineries.

In the international wine competition, the Prague Wine Trophy, we won an award for our wines. Four Premium Gold medals and four Gold medals. The winery was awarded the title of The Best Winery.

Our first beautifully adjusted vintage sparkling wine, Cuvée Chardonnay & Pinot Blanc, extra brut 2020. We will only produce it in selected vintages that allow us to obtain the highest quality raw material.
